Death of Chris Lane Bodkin

We just recently received notification about the death of Chris Lane Bodkin, a member of the West Virginia Society Sons of the Revolution.

The officers and members of the Society of Sons of the Revolution in the State of West Virginia extend their belated but most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Chris Lane Bodkin who passed away on Tuesday, May 02, 2017. Chris Lane Bodkin was a member of the Society of Sons of the Revolution in the State of West Virginia.

January 14, 1949 – May 02, 2017

Chris Lane Bodkin 68, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his residence.

Services for Mr. Bodkin will be held at a later date.

He was born in Weston, West Virginia on January 14, 1949 to the late Willard Lawrence. and Ruth Opal Parmer Bodkin.  Chris was former police officer with the Strasburg Police Department with 18 years of service. He was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA, Strasburg, Moose Lodge 403, the Strasburg Eagles, Spurmont Lodge No. 98 A.F. & A.M. Strasburg, VA and donated his time as an Instructor for the Shenandoah Valley Sportsman Youth Shooting Team for numerous years.

Survivors include two sons, Adam Bodkin and fiancé, Sarah Streets of Strasburg, VA, Scott Bodkin of California; two grandchildren, Cory Bodkin and Ashley Bodkin and one brother, Gene Bodkin and wife, Kay of Florida.
