It is interesting to note that of the nine founders of the Society of Sons of the Revolution in the State of West Virginia, three of the founding members were grandsons of Revolutionary War soldiers and one member was a great-grandson of a Revoutionary War soldier: Judge John Marshall HAGANS was the grandson of Ensign Daniel McCOLLUM, John BASSELL was the grandson of John NORRIS, John DAILY was the grandson of John DAILY and Col. Henry HAYMOND was the great-grandson of Maj. William HAYMOND.
